Friday morning Ray and I joined the other truly adventurous members of our group for a tour of San Miguel mine. The first order of business was a stop to pick up our uniforms: rubber boots, waterproof slickers to wear over our clothing, hardhats and lamps. Next we visited the Miner's Market where we purchased gifts for Tio, the underground god of the mines and for the miners. We bought coca leaves, unfiltered cigarettes, 96 proof alcohol and dynamite.
