We recently made our third trip to Costa Rica. Our trip started with a long 4.5 hour taxi trip the city of San Vito very close to the Panama border. There we visited the city and toured a farm which is working on experiments in reforestation. (http://darwin.bio.uci.edu/~flcarpen/) We then traveled by taxi for 4 hours to Manuel Antonio National Park for a chance to visit the park, bask in the sunshine on the beach, swim in the warm waters, and explore the city of Quepos. One your best...
So many good images here...the San Vito monument -- a study in humanely incongruous abstraction; the vivid colors of "Indigenious;" the flawed immortality of the angel in "Broken Wing;" the broken pride of "Maria Louisa;" the delicate light and color in "Tokens;" the tree climbing sloth amid the rhythms of "Sloth on the path;" the glowing translucence of "Palm Pattern;" the juxtaposition of those flaming red pants under an appropriate sign in "Waiting;" and the surreal two headed Marlin in "Blues" are among my favorites.
