I've been in US many years age and anyone who knew I came from Iran have asking me "Do you ride CAMEL in your towns ?!!!!!!!!" Unfortunately WORLD IS ROUND is shutting down. Unless the owner of WIR can find someone who is willing and capable of taking over the website. I have been planning to start my own website which would include similar photo albums on Iran. However, due to health reasons (Diabetes complications) I'm not able to foresee any such website any time soon. My intention with these albums was to make available to the world the good side of Iran through images and to try to make people from all around the world understand that Iran absolutely does not deserve to be considered a member of some "axis of evil". I also wanted to instill hope and inspiration for a brighter future for the young generations of Iranians. And images can do that! They can create a vision in the minds of people.

There is always one problem and that is when we show those to American people they always think that we are all living in small villages and the type of the Architecture is the Rural type. I wish there were more pictures about the Modern Arshitecture, The exisitn larger cities like Isfahan with the historical monuments show whithin the city, not separately so they can see how the Urbanism is done in Historical cities. I am not an Iranian, but my love for Iran is simply more than one can imagine.Yes, basically it is because of the revolution and the glory restored to all the Islamic world by the Iranians. But now watching these wonderful pictures I could see that your country is so beautiful and was the cradle of a great civilization. If I was to be reborn again and was given the choice to select where I wish to live I will certainly chose Iran. I am sorry but you said that blue or green eyes in Iranians is not the norm but not rare. I would like to point out that hazel mixtures between green and brown is the most common eye colour in Iran and that brown and blackish hair are the most common hair colour for 70% of Iranians while the rest are yellow or red or mixtures. I have dark hair myslef but when ever I am with family members or visiting my area in Iran I stand out cause black hair is rare and blond is the norm.

I got the change to go to Iran last summer, and I am really quite ashamed to say that I was expecting it to be a very oppressive country where everyone was hostile towards Americans (which is, sadly, how the American media portrays it), so imagine my surprise! As your photos have shown, Iran is not the wasteland it is often perceived to be, but one of the most incredible countries I've visited, and everyone was so friendly towards me, even though I'm an American. I hope I have the chance to visit again. It's unfortunate that the poor relationship between the US and Iran will prevent Americans from actually seeing your beautiful country. Thank you very much.Fabulous.As an Iranian living in west, i can tell ,sadly,most of western people associate Iran with Iraq and Afghanistan and think we are Arabs,nomades and backwards.I ve explained them several times that we are Persian with 4000 years of civilisation.With all the pictures of those beautiful mosques they would probebly even believe more in, that we are Arab.That woulb be a good idea if you put more pictures of our modern Iran, Industrial areas, medical centers, roads,Universities, buildings, airports, hotels from above to show its magnificences and developments.I ve missed home a lot.

I spent 2 years in Teheran as a French teacher (1973/1975). It was one of the best moments in my life because Iran was such a beautiful country, and Iranian People were so friendly. I wish Iran were a Free country.

I wish you would add some explanation to pictures,such as Rayen Caslte,which I do not know where it is and how old it is.There are some historical mistakes too.For example Parthians ruled way before Sassanian,therfore they could not have ruled 274 years bc.Must be way before that date.

I just can't thank you enough, for posting all those terrific photos!! Having been to Iran twice (1970 and 1976) I especially appreciate seeing all the places I've been, and many more!! The Persian people I met were very friendly. I'm sorry they now have all those problems. Would love to return, if I didn't have to wear a head scarf the whole time!
